About Us
Balance of Power was founded by Allenallenallen333, Mvp333, and BobaFett2 in the wake of the collapse of AstroBrick. The intention of the game was to separate itself from all of the LU remakes and to focus on quality above all else.
We were determined to differentiate ourselves and run more effectively from the other LU game remakes, and as a result we have different policies from other groups:
We were determined to differentiate ourselves and run more effectively from the other LU game remakes, and as a result we have different policies from other groups:
- There is no limit to the number of members on a team. This is to avoid a situation where a good member can't join a team because they got there too late, while a mediocre or near useless member is allowed to be on the team due to being there first. However, we are more than a little selective, so this does not mean that just anyone can join. If a member joins under false pretenses (claims to have an ability which they do not and turn out to be useless), they will be immediately removed from the team. Any team member who uses files from another game or group without permission will likewise be removed from the team.
- No story writers. Anyone can write a story. Any team members can work on development and write the story - it doesn't take any extra effort. That said, we encourage you to submit any story ideas you have. Credit will be given if we use an idea you send us.
- Anyone can send in ideas. We will have a forum for people to contribute ideas and models in the future once we have created the core of our game. If you do not wish to be a team member but want credit for a contribution, we can list you as a contributor on the site along with your contributions.
- Every team member is equal. There are two co-leaders; BobaFett2 and Mvp333, who are in charge of hiring. Only unimportant decisions are made unilaterally: all team members have an equal say on important decisions. There is no hierarchy between members.
- We accept people who make concept art and models, but there is a minimum standard of quality. Anyone can make a minifigure in LDD. We do not consider it a skill or a reason to recruit someone. We are very critical of creations.
- A team member who is inactive for three months of longer will have their page removed from the site until they can further contribute, unless they notify us beforehand about their reason for inactivity (vacations and lack of internet access).
- All testing is public. There is no reason for us to make testing private, as we do not intend to (and cannot) charge any money in any way, shape, or form for the game. Once the core of the game has been created, we will post links to builds for testing on the site.
- No information about the game is secret. There is no reason for us to make this game private, and if you want information, feel free to ask.
- We do not ignore applicants. Some teams have a policy of ignoring applicants they don't want. We consider this to be rude, and attempt to reply to every application. Note: Weebly has lost applications in the past, so if you don't receive a reply within a week, email us again.
